Terms of service
The terms for using Relay, your responsibilities, and what you can expect from the service.
Draft updated
Draft for review. This document is not yet effective. Relay’s legal owner, contact details, and operating practices must be confirmed before publication.
1. Using Relay
These terms govern your access to Relay’s website, web app, and desktop app. Once these terms take effect, using Relay means you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be legally able to enter into this agreement. If you use Relay for an organization, you must have authority to accept these terms on its behalf.
2. Your account
Provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in credentials private. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Tell us if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission. Do not use another person’s account without authorization.
3. Acceptable use
Use Relay lawfully and respect other people’s rights. Do not use the service to distribute malicious software, commit fraud, harass others, or share content you have no right to use. Do not attempt to access accounts or systems without permission, bypass access controls, or interfere with the service or its infrastructure.
4. Content and ownership
You retain ownership of content you provide to Relay. You give us permission to host, process, and display that content only as needed to operate and provide the service to you. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to provide it.
Relay and its licensors retain their rights in the service, software, and branding. Subject to these terms, you may use the service for its intended purpose. Third-party software may be governed by its own license.
5. Privacy and other services
Our Privacy policy explains how we handle personal information. Relay may offer links to or sign-in through third-party services, including Google and GitHub. Those services have their own terms and policies. We do not control their availability or operation.
6. Changes and availability
We may change, add, or remove features as Relay develops. The service may be unavailable during maintenance or due to issues outside our control. We do not promise that every feature will remain available or that the service will operate without interruption. If paid features are offered, their pricing and payment terms will be presented before purchase.
7. Suspension and ending use
You may stop using Relay at any time. We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address a breach of these terms, protect the service or other people, or comply with law. Where practical and lawful, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. Stopping use does not automatically delete account records; the Privacy policy explains how information is retained.
8. Disclaimers and responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, Relay is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, or non-infringement. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.
9. Updates and contact
We may update these terms and will post the revised version with an updated date. Material changes will receive reasonable notice before taking effect when required by law. If you do not accept the revised terms, you should stop using Relay.
Relay’s legal owner and a contact address for questions about these terms will be added before they take effect.
